These dogs have provided me with an education in multiple dimensions. It's not just about how to steer a sled or how to stay awake at late hours of the night, I've learned more about myself and about life than I could have ever anticipated. Any kind of comfort zone that once existed within me, has been completely stretched from just going out and dominating the obstacles that get thrown our way while spending countless hours driving dogs in the remote Alaskan wilderness. Where I used to be timid or insecure, or perhaps hesitant in my endeavors and passions, I now make eye contact with the mountains in front of me and rally forward! Here are a few things that we are rallying towards, and that motivate us everyday:

* We have settled on 10 acres of raw land up here in Ester, AK.  We will be moving onto our new property this coming spring.

* I will be doing my absolute best to eliminate chains as much as possible. Providing and building adequate space for the dogs to have free run pens.  Nothing says 'Freedom' any less than living on a chain your whole life!

* We will use this blog as a platform to share the stories and photos that accompany us along the way to building our life. The blog on this site will be used primarily to document our kennel's development.

* “When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, I told them they didn't understand life.” It doesn't quite matter who said these words, as much as how true they are. We are not striving for money, or notoriety, or security. We exist on this giant rock floating around in infinite space, for merely a blink of time, and we intend to spend every single moment living purposefully. We do not live for wilderness, and adventure, and freedom. Instead, we live our lives for happiness and good vibrations. Wilderness and adventure and freedom are simply what we have discovered give US the most joy.
